Pink Pamper Party on December 30th...

When my grandmother "Vovó Myrinha" was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years back, it seemed as though time stopped. As I heard the news for the first time, I could not bring myself up to believe it, breast cancer? Does that mean she is going to die?

I heard about my Grandma's cancer from my Mother, and I remember the uneasy feeling of how it all felt. My heart froze up in shock, followed by tears. I had no real idea on what to think, or how to feel about her actual condition. My grandmother has always been known as the brick of our family. She is the strongest most active person I have ever known, and pretty much invincible.
She always carried herself with class, and cared for her appearance very well, girlish, into fashion, healthy eating, etc… After her surgery, she was left disfigured. Although she would always act strong and never really complained. I remember always trying to reflect her attitude and strength and act as though her cancer was "no big deal" in front of her -- and that she would in fact live forever. But cannot even imagine whats like to go through what she had to go through.

Im happy to say my grandmother is a survivor, and from her experience I have learned that early detection is key.

"Routine healthcare is essential for any woman. Many women -- young and old -- still do not obtain mammograms or perform breast self-exams at home."

Breast cancer can affect anyone, even when you think it will never hit close to home.

Well, Im now working with Avon, and was having a look through their website and I decided to get involved with their Breast Cancer Fundraising.

annnnd....

I would like to invite my friends for a "Pink Pamper Party!":)

Pink Pamper Parties make fundraising beautiful by providing the perfect opportunity for some well-earned pampering, whilst raising vital funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer's life-saving work.

I ordered my Pamper kit and would like to invite my friends over on December 30th, 2010.
I will be sending out official invites, soon. A true pamper party! – manicures, massages, pedicures, facials all with Avon products. I will have all the information on how to donate and sponsor.

and please share your stories, and any advice.

Thank you.
